Cake Me Away created its first storefront and opened MAY 2014. The sweet shop spread quickly, grasping its first year of business and spreading sweetness as much as it could. We quickly grew in size, employees, expectations, failures, and celebrations.
Our demand and space limited our possibilities. Cake Me Away out grew its “first apartment” and moved in with its new love partnership at Chantilly’s. Combining two specialties=desserts and parties, we had a great formula for success. Cake Me Away moved into Chantilly’s tea room, both owned and operated by Brittany, in the summer of 2016. We expanded our case, added more items, made many great memories and experiences in our new home. Fast forward through the growing celebrations and the pivot of a new beginning for Cake Me Away to March 2020 when our country went to battle with COVID 19. The doors were shut for both businesses for the safety of our community and staff. As we watched the world change and become impacted by this situation we were faced with the hardships of owning a business during this time. We were led to close and say good bye to our home with Chantilly’s. As God closes doors, others will open. How we react to the challenges we face determines what our own personal and business growth looks like. We chose to keep pushing through and are committed to spreading sweet kindness faster than the spread of Corona. May 2020, in the midst of devastation, Cake Me Away picked up its whisk & apron and took its sweet buns to Dallas NC to start its next sweet creation. As the world changes around us, we stand tall to change within us for the greater good of the world. Cake Me Away bakery sliced right into its 6th birthday cake during this transition and though we were unable to celebrate like our years before, we are grateful for this time of growth and reflection. Cake Me Away is going to be nothing but delicious celebrations, surprises, growth and sweet moments to come. Our Journey with our NEW Dallas NC location is thrilled and excited to start serving you SOON! The hard work and beautiful art we create is made without this specific ingredient=JUDGEMENT. We realize how hard it must be to be a judge of state or heaven, so we are not taking on that job or adding it in our products. All custom orders are made custom to the celebrated event or person. We are all custom individuals, why not make those ideas edible and come to life through sweets to help bring us all together during those unique celebrations of life! |
